Walnut Grove, GA---Mary Able is the first 2012 signing for the Emmanuel College Women's Soccer program.

Mary is the first player from Walnut Grove High School to sign with a college soccer program in the high school's brief history.  Walnut Grove HS is in Walton County with Loganville High School the other school in that community.

"Mary comes to the Lions through two of our major recruiting channels," said Head Coach Forrest Wimberly.  "Mary played for the College Experience Program as well as attended our Lions Soccer Academy summer camp last summer providing us with several opportunities to watch her play."

"It was clear to us in those camp sessions that Mary will provide speed, toughness, and creativity to our line-up," continued Wimberly.  "We have a very clear identity within our program and I've found more and more like-minded players searching us out...we have truly been blessed to find such a rich vein of student-athletes looking for something special like the EC Women's Soccer Program.  God is really working with us in all our efforts."

More signings will follow in December and January as the class of 2012 roster is completed.

The Lions open the Spring 2012 season hosting an exhibition match versus Converse College on Saturday, March 17 at 1 PM.  The game will be played at Rocky Ford Park in Carnesville.
