Franklin Springs, GA---The 'Lil Bronze Peach series resumes this week as both Emmanuel College basketball teams travel to Southern Wesleyan University on Thursday, January 26.  The Women play at 6 pm while the men follow at 8 pm.

The 'Lil Bronze Peach competition is in its third year and is the annual competition between EC and SWU.  Points are awarded in head-to-head regular season games and the winning school receives the trophy at the final chapel service of the year.  SWU has claimed the first two titles.

From the fall, soccer split with the women collecting the points.  Volleyball points went to SWU while EC took the SSAC academic points naming more players to the SSAC All-Academic team than SWU.  The basketball points are divided over the two meetings; Thursday at SWU and then February 18 at Franklin Springs.

Baseball and Softball finish the competition with their games in the spring.

EC basketball has been in great form lately putting together some nice SSAC results over the past month.

The EC Women are 10-10 overall (5-4 in the SSAC) good enough for third place in the eastern division while SWU is in sixth place at 6-12 (3-7 in the SSAC ).  The EC Women have won five of the last six games while SWU enters the game on a four-game skid.

The EC Men are 12-9 (5-5 in the SSAC) sitting in fourth place in the eastern division while SWU is in seventh place holding a 7-12 (2-8 in the SSAC ).  The EC men have gone 3-3 in their last six conference games while SWU has gone 1-5 over that same stretch.
