Rome, GA---The Emmanuel College women's basketball team defeated the Loyola Wolfpack 54-52 in the SSAC quarterfinals on Thursday night.

Emmanuel now moves on to the SSAC semifinals to face Lee University on Friday night at 6 pm.  Lee downed William Carey 62-42 to advance.

Kaylyn Young led the Lions with 19 points in the victory.  Ashontti Lewis was huge under the basket collecting 11 rebounds for the Lions.

EC trailed at the half 26-22 and took the lead on a Kayla Eaton 3-pointer with 14 minutes to play to put the Lions ahead for good.  EC never trailed after that possession and pushed out to a six point lead for most of the remaining minutes.  Loyola hit a 3-pointer with :01 seconds to play to get close but not close enough to catch the Lions.
