Rome, GA---The new Emmanuel College Women's Lacrosse program has been selected to join the National Women's Lacrosse League (NWLL) for the 2012-13 school year as confirmed by EC Director of Lacrosse Operations Patrick Johnston.
Emmanuel will take to the field in the spring of 2013 in the Lion's first season of play. The NWLL currently includes NAIA schools from Georgia to Illinois. Tentatively, Emmanuel will be in the South Conference with Pikeville (KY), Shorter (GA), and Savannah College of Art and Design (GA) for the 2013 season.
Columbia (SC), TN Wesleyan (TN), St Andrews (NC), and Reinhardt (GA) will also provide some close non-conference rivals in this first year of play.
The Rome, Georgia based NWLL was founded in 2010 and Indiana Tech defeated TN Wesleyan for the first-ever NWLL crown in 2011. Visit http://www.nwll.net/landing/index for more information and the current standings and scores in the NWLL.
