
Winona Lake, IN---The #4 seeded Emmanuel College women's basketball team fell to #5 seeded Grace College Lancers 58-49 in the NCCAA national quarterfinals Wednesday night. Grace College is the host school for the NCCAA national tournament.
Grace went on a 6-0 run to open the game and the Lions trailed 31-26 at the half. The Lions clawed back tying the game 44-44 with 7:28 to play in the second half but then Grace went on a 9-1 run to build out a comfortable lead. The Lions shooting touch then went cold as the Lions did not convert a field goal over the final 3 minutes of the game.
Kaylyn Young and Kryston Young both scored 11 points as Ashontti Lewis collected 9 rebounds for the Lions.
EC is back on the court today at 10:15 am playing #1 seed California Baptist. California Baptist was upset by #8 Colorado Christian in their quarterfinal matchup Wednesday night.
