Franklin Springs, GA---The Emmanuel College softball team loves playing in the Springs. Wednesday afternoon the EC Lions swept the visiting Bryan College Lions in a doubleheader to push the home record to 9-1 in 2012.
EC is now 12-4 in 2012.
Game one was a close contest with the Lions winning 2-1. Jordan Najafi pitched all 7 innings allowing just the one run. Hayley Baird went 1 for 3 at the plate driving in both the EC runs.
Game two was a more comfortable 9-1 win for the EC Lions. Kinley Hallman pitched all 5 innings allowing just 2 hits and the lone run. Pinch hitter Kasey Kelley did the most damage at the plate going 1-1 driving in 3 runs with a home run. Brittney Smith also homered for the Lions.
EC next plays host to NAIA #9 Shorter on March 16 and then Lee on March 17. First pitch is 4 pm on the 16th and noon on the 17th in the Springs.
