Musco Lighting Honor Student Athlete Awards

Each member institution will recognize one male and female student athlete from their institution and forward those institutional award winners to the conference as their nominee for the SSAC Honor Student Athlete Awards. The institutional winners and those eligible for these top two SSAC awards should be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Quality GPA (determined by institution but encouraged to meet or exceed a 3.5)
  • Community Service
  • On the Field Excellence (must be a contributor to the success of the team)
  • Tenure at Institution (must have competed and been in residence at that institution for two years)
Trevor Lanier is a Senior graduating as a 2010 Honor Graduate with a degree in Communication with Multimedia emphasis; GPA 3.89. He has participated as a member of the Lions Tennis Team for four years, serving as captain for all four years. He has been recognized as a leader on campus, participating in many on-campus activities. He is a member of several honor societies, including Alpha Chi, national honor society and Omicron Delta Kappa. He participated in many on-campus clubs and activities: Emmanuel Singers, Montage Literary Magazine, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and he worked as an Admissions Counselor recruiting new students to Emmanuel College. He has been involved in short-term mission trips and served as a mentor in the local school system. He has completed and extensive resume while being a student as shown by the listing below. He is a prime example of what a student-athlete can be.
