(FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.)—The Emmanuel College Men's Tennis Team dropped their opening match against a dominant Auburn University at Montgomery team. Although the sun was out, a cool southwesterly wind made it difficult for the Lions to compete against the Warhawks, who took the match 9-0.

In the singles matches, Ty Smith had a particularly good day for the Lions tying his opponent 3-3 in the opening set before the reigning Southern States Athletic Conference Player of the Year Nicolas Pinones-Haltenhoff took hold of the match that ended in  6-3, 6-2 scores. Each of the men's doubles pairs lost 8-0.

The Lions play on February 8 and 9 in Mobile, Ala., against the University of Mobile, Spring Hill College and Loyola University.
