PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers swimming & diving is hosting the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships at the Rutgers Aquatic Center Feb. 23-25. All 3 days consist of prelims in the morning and finals at night. Only the top 16 swimmers in each morning prelims event qualify for finals at night. Swimmers can only score points for their team in the finals at night. 33 teams are competing in this year's ECAC Championships, including schools form NCAA Div. I, II, & III.
On the women's side:
In the 200 free relay (Ostojska, Simioni, Ribeiro, Arnold) qualified 5th in 1:37.94
In the 500 free, Juana Mafla finished 28th (5:22.69)
In the 200 IM, Julia Simioni qualified 13th (2:10.00) new EC school record. Anna Calka qualified 16th (2:10.81)
In the 50 free, Carmen Arnold finished 21st (24.17), Juliana Ribeiro finished 34th (24.88), Yara Bouckaert finished 49th (25.49)
In the 400 medley relay (Calka, Simioni, Monges, Ostojska) qualified 6th in 3:57.25
On the men's side:
In the 200 free relay (Aleksandrowicz, Mendes, Rosa, Sobers) qualified 3rd in 1:22.70. The B relay (Robertson, Campbell, Ordonez, Courteaux) finished 18th in 1:28.91
In the 500 free, Alex Sobers qualified 15th (4:33.77), Stanislas Raczynski finished 18th (4:36.56), Richard Williamson finished 28th (4:44.52)
In the 200 IM, Mathieu Danjou qualified 10th (1:54.05), Sebastian Riano finished 32nd (2:01.02)
In the 50 free, Thiago Rosa qualified 7th (20.61), Adrian Aleksandrowicz qualified 11th (20.87), Rafael Mendes finished 25th (21.55), Theo Courteaux finished 47th (21.99), Seth Campbell finished 60th (22.45), Joel Ordonez finished 63rd (22.64)
In the 400 medley relay (Rosa, Courteaux, Aleksandrowicz, Sobers) qualified 3rd 3:21.84
The B relay (Brown, Jones, Ordonez, Campbell) finished 20th in 3:43.86
