Murphy & Botella Named Athletes of the Week

This week's winners are Cooper Murphy (Baseball) & Fantine Botella (Women's Tennis). Both athletes had outstanding performances last week and played influential roles in the performances of their teams.

Cooper Murphy is a sophomore from Acworth, GA. Cooper has been a part of Emmanuel for 2 years, and has become an important asset for the team, and one of the most important pitchers on the squad. During a conference game against Southern Wesleyan University, Murphy was up at pitch. He ended up playing for 7 innings without allowing any runs, and having 3 hits. Cooper was one of the best players on the field that day, and played an enormous role in the victory of his team.

Fantine Botella is a tennis player from Valence, France. She is a freshman, however, she already possesses qualities that can help her become the best player in the conference. As Fantine is wrapping up her first season as a collegiate athlete, she has had impressive performances, going undefeated this past week, posting wins against two Conference Carolinas schools in both singles and doubles. With that performance, Botella stretched her winning streak to 5 consecutive victories. Fantine has been playing great tennis, contributing to important conference wins for her team.
