Lions Take Win Over Belmont Abbey

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.—The Emmanuel College Men's Basketball team got their first Conference Carolinas win on Saturday night, defeating Belmont Abbey 88-55.

The Lions took an 11-10 lead five minutes into the game, and the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey were not able to close the gap. The Lions largest lead of the game extended to 34 points.

Luke Miller led the Lions offense with 16 points. Jeremy Burgess added 13 points and Terrance Polk put up 12 points. Collectively, the Lions shot 70% from the field.

The team had 28 rebounds, 15 assists, and was almost in single digits in the turnover column with only 10.

The Lions continue their home stretch with a Conference Carolinas match-up against Lees McRAe. Tip off is set for 7:30 PM in the Shaw Athletic Center.
