FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.—The Lions had a come from behind victory over the number two team in the conference, King College, on Saturday night.
The Lions went into half time only down by one point, trailing the Tornados 33-32. Emmanuel kept the game close, but the Tornados of King kept the lead until they tied the game up at 48-48 on a Steven Guinchard free-throw.
With a Michael Stanley lay-up, the Lions were able to take the lead (50-48) for the first time in the game with 11:17 remaining on the clock. From there, the Lions were able to extend their lead and beat King College 72-64.
Michael Stanley led with 23 points and nine rebounds and three steals. Jeremy Burgess and Zach Lillie each put up 10 points. Terrance Polk and Kurtis Robinson added nine and eight points, respectively. Stanley and Robinson each had three assists. Zach Vess added two blocks.
The boys are on a six game win streak, with a 14-8 overall record, and a record of 10-5 in Conference Carolinas play.
The Lions travel to Lees McRae on Tuesday, tip off is set for 7:30 PM.
