Lions Win NCCAA South Region Championship

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.—The Lions were victorious over Carver Bible College for the NCCAA South Region Championship game.

The Cougars took an early lead over Emmanuel, but the Lions held them to only a three point lead before coming back and taking the lead for the rest of the game.

The Lions took the lead at 7-5 on a Luke Miller three pointer with 16:16 left in the game. With that, the Lions never looked back, having an 80-70 win over the Cougars for the Region title.

Jeremy Burgess lead the Lions offensively with 20 points and brought down seevn rebounds. Michael Stanley added another double double for his season, collecting 15 points with 13 rebounds and five assists. Luke Miller put up 14 points with four three-pointers. Patrick McCrary and Terrance Polk had 11 and 10 points for the Lions, respectively. Johan Pennerat had three steals for the game.

The Lions will travel to Grace College in Winona Lake,Indiana for the NCCAA National tournament on March 18-21.
