Central, SC - The Emmanuel Men's Basketball Team have rebounded from a heartbreaking 1 point loss to Erskine on Wednesday with an 11 point victory over local rivals Southern Wesleyan University. Junior Steven Guinchard top scored for the Lions with 19 points, while Kurtis Robinson finished with 17 and Zach Vess notched up 16 points and 8 rebounds. A strong opening half from the Lions set them up for victory as they outscored the Warriors 42-27. Emmanuel managed to out shoot the Warriors in both field goal and 3-pt percentage, but fell shot at the line with just 12/26 free throws made. The Lions, 10-4, are currently in second place on the Conference Carolina's ladder behind King University, 11-2. Zach Lillie is third in conference for field goal percentage. The Lions now have 7 days off before they take on Barton College at the Jack and Jane Shaw Athletic Center in Franklin Springs next Saturday February 13 at 2pm. The Lions are 15-5 overall with just 7 games left in the regular season.
