Gaffney, South Carolina - The clever Lions used their pressure defense and up- tempo style of play to defeat Limestone University 71-56 on Wednesday Night. The Lions came into the game on their feet, as they knocked down back-to-back buckets. The Lions utilized Kendrick Colvin as helped the Lions mount a 13-6 run. From there, the Lions pushed the tempo, as they forced the Bernie's into contested shots.
The Lions continued to stay locked in as the Bernie struggled to find opportunities at the basket. The Bernie's responded to this upset by utilizing Brolin Floyd who had 19 points overall. The Lions rode the outside shooting touch of Steve Guinchard. The teams remained close as they traded baskets and possessions with neither able to mount a big run.
Still, the Lions couldn't seem to gain a large lead as each basket was met by a basket for the Bernie's. In the final seconds of the half, the Lions went on a 5-0 run to close out the half 34-29.
The Lions came out in the second half firing away and took advantage of the defense by moving the ball around to Elijah Robinson. The Lions continued to extend their lead as they mounted a double-digit lead. The tried to claw their way back into the game but it was to late as the final buzzer sounded. The defeated Limestone University 71-56.

The Emmanuel men's basketball team will continue action against Lees McRae in the Jack and Jane Shaw Athletic Center on Saturday evening. Tip off is set at 4:00 p.m.
