Winona Lake, IN- The EC Men's Basketball Team started off their national championship pursuit on a good note with an impressive victory over Central Christian (Kan.)
The game started with Central Christian making a jump shot then a three-pointer, but that would be the only time the Tigers would see the lead. From there the Lions would use their diverse offense to jump ahead. By the end of the 1st half the Lions were up 34-22.
Going into the second half the Lions continued to show a dominant performance with three-pointers coming from Austin Greene, Steven Guinchard, Clinton Cybulski and Nathan Williams. Ronnie Stanley closed out the last 6 points of the game with back to back three's as well. The Lions finished the game 76-47.
Emmanuel was led by Zach Lillie and Kurtis Robinson both with 10 points and 8 rebounds. The Lions outshot the Tigers with 39.7% from the field compared to the Tigers 36.5% and outrebounded them 50-29.
This win moves the Lions overall record at 25-5 and puts them in a good position as they play Grace College in the semifinals tonight at 8:45PM. The game can be purchased for view by following this link.
