Lions Two-Point Loss against Lees-McRae

BANNER ELK, NC – The Lions traveled to Lees-McRae this weekend to take on the Bobcats. The Lions put up a tough fight, but failed to pull off a victory ending the game down two points, 74-76.

Kendrick Colvin led the Lions in scoring by putting up 22-points. Colton Collins came in second scoring 15 points for the game. Elijah Robinson ruled in rebounds with 10 in his 28 minutes of play time.

The first half started off with a two-points from Austin Greene and a huge block by Kendrick Colvin. The Bobcats gained a lead in the middle of the first half, but allowed Kendrick Colvin to pull the Lions back into the game by sending him to the free throw line. The first half ended with the Lions up 44-42. The second half started with the Lions taking control of scoring opportunities. They soon found themselves with an 11-point lead. The Lions kept a small lead until the last minute of the game where they gave away two free throws and allowed the Bobcats to score a layup to tie the game 74-74. With 13 seconds on the clock, the Bobcats scored the final two points taking the win.

The Lions now hold an overall record of 9-8, with a conference record of 3-4. They will play on the road one more time on January, Wednesday 17th at King University before playing at home again.
