Colvin’s 35 Points Not Enough To Top Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. - The Emmanuel College men's basketball team fell to Augusta University on Thursday afternoon, 77-70. The teams played to a huge crowd of over 2500 at the Jaguar hosted Education Day Game.

Senior Kendrick Colvin led all players, scoring 35 points with 13 rebounds for a double-double. Despite his impressive numbers, the Jaguars grabbed the lead from the beginning and never let up. At their highest lead, Augusta was up 20 points.

Emmanuel began to close the deficit with just three minutes on the clock. The Lions got within five points before they were forced to foul. The Jaguars would get the job done from the free throw line and finish the game with a seven point lead.

The teams were consistent from the stat sheet, both shooting over 40% from the floor. The Lions were out-rebounded 37 to 33 and had one more turnover than their opponent.

Next up for the Lions is conference opponent Barton College on Saturday, December 8th.
