Greene Leads Lions With Career High In Victory over Limestone

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College men's basketball team continued their win streak with a 96-81 win over Limestone College on Saturday night. This win brings the Lions record to 11-6 overall, 5-0 conference.

Senior Austin Greene led the Lions with a career high 32 points while shooting 69% from the field. Senior Derek Vandiver also had a career high, putting up 24 points while going seven for ten from the three-point line. A dominant Lions defense allowed Emmanuel 12 more rebounds than the Saints en route to their victory. 

The Lions started off hot, holding the lead for 75% of the first half. A strong showing from the Saints late in the half helped them rally back and take the lead. A jump shot from Senior Kendrick Colvin would steal the lead back for the Lions right before half time, 43-41.

The Saints pressured Emmanuel early in the second half, taking the lead back once more before the Lions finally began to run away. The Lions outperformed their opponent in every category, bringing their lead to as much as 16 points before cruising to a 96-81 victory. 

Next up for the Lions is another home game against Albany State on Tuesday, January 8th at 7:00pm.
