Lions Fall in Spring Break Opener to Florida Southern

LAKELAND, Fl. – The Emmanuel College men's lacrosse team started off their Florida trip with a loss to the Moccasins of Florida Southern, 35-6.

Allan Velasquez would find Alex Stull for the first goal of the game, but from that point, the Moccasins were in the driver's seat. The next Emmanuel goal would come by way of Matthew Mitchell in the final minute of the half. EC was trailing 23-2 at the break.

Travis Brave Heart would score midway through the third quarter off another Velasquez feed. The Moccasins continued to score pushing it to 33-3 heading into the final quarter.

The Lions would score three more in the fourth quarter with Stull taking his second of the day and Velasquez and Shamaz Durrant would claim one each. With under three minutes to play, Florida Southern would score their final goal making it 35-6.

Allan Velasquez gathered three points in the game with one goal and two assists.

The teams were close to even in the turnover column with EC at 37 to Florida Southern's 31.
