Lions Struggle Against #12 Mt. Olive 19-3

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.  – The Emmanuel College men's lacrosse team fell to 12th ranked Mt. Olive Saturday 19-3. 

The Trojans came out of the gate firing on all cylinders outscoring the Lions 11-1 in the first half. The lone goal for EC came from Kylon Collins who scored off of an assist from Matthew Mitchell

Mt. Olive came out of the halftime break with a three goal run which was halted by Alex Stull scoring with 5:33 left in the third quarter. Matthew Mitchell would follow shortly after, both scoring off of Allan Velasquez passes. Two more late goals for the Trojans would extend the margin to 16-3 heading into the fourth.

Just over two-minutes into the final quarter of play, Mt. Olive started a three-goal run. These three goals would be the last of the game as the Lions fell 19-3.

Standout Performance

Avery Lattimore stepped up between the pipes with 10-saves.

The Emmanuel man-down unit held strong only allowing one extra man opportunity to convert.
