Franklin Springs, GA - Nathan Harrell has been named the new Head Women's Soccer Coach at Emmanuel College, announced Director of Athletics Nate Moorman on Thursday.
"Nathan is a man of strong character and in talking with him, I felt our women soccer players would be in great hands with his experience. Coach Harrell brings a high level of energy and a wealth of knowledge to our department and to the women's soccer program." said Moorman. "I am looking forward to working with him and having him as a part of the Lions family."
Most recently Harrell served as the Boys Soccer Head Coach and social studies teacher at Northview High School and academy and select staff coach for boys and girls' teams at Atlanta Fire United in Johns Creek, GA. Prior to Northview he served as assistant coach to the Varsity program, head JV Boys, and Goal Keeper coach at Lambert High School. During that time, Harrell also coached academy and select teams for both boys and girls' teams at Concorde Fire. While coaching club Harrell coached served as staff coach for multiple camps and clinics throughout the region.
A native of Atlanta, he grew up playing club soccer for Cobb FC (now SSA) and for Whitefield Academy. After high school Harrell attended Covenant College on a soccer scholarship and then transferred to Emmanuel College where he played soccer for his final three years under Coach Borchers.
Harrell graduated from Emmanuel with a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and Minor in History after a successful playing career on the Lions soccer team. Coach Harrell currently holds the NSCAA National Coaching and Goal Keeping Level I and II license.
