Lions Soccer Take Down SWU in Overtime

Franklin Springs, GA - The Lions men's soccer time took down Southern Wesleyan today in overtime 2-1. This win brings the Lions record to 7-5 and now with six wins in a row.

The Lions quickly took charge of the first half when Martin Mitreski scored a goal with an assist by Channing Park  in the 13th minute. The Lions fought to maintain this lead throughout the remainder of the first half, and well into the second half. It appeared that Emmanuel would finish the match with a 1-0 victory, until Michel Herszenhaut scored a goal for Southern Wesleyan with an assist by Sam Rowden in the 88th minute. With the Lions unable to score again in the short time that remained, the match went into overtime. However, it did not take the Lions long to clinch the victory. Three minutes into overtime, Josh Smith scored a goal with an assist by Martin Mitreski to defeat Southern Wesleyan 2-1.

The men will be back in action on Wednesday, October 19, at Limestone College. The match will begin at 7:30 p.m.
