Men's Soccer Get Runner-Up In NCCAA National Championship

Franklin Springs, GA - The men's soccer team has finished their season as the number two team in the Nation after competing in the final round of the NCCAA National Championship and finishing runner-up.

Head Coach Scott Borchers had this to say about the NCCAA Tournament, "We were blessed with an opportunity to play in the National Tournament. The boys played fantastic through the tough week. Our style, passion, and energy was great. The boys played with lots of freedom. There is a lot to be said about these boys playing 4 games in 6 days; winning 3 games, only being scored on one time in 365 minutes, and playing for a National Championship...all while going into the tournament as the #9 seed. I am really proud of the way the boys performed, handled themselves, and represented Emmanuel College Soccer!"

The Lions ending their season with an overall record of 15-8, the best season they have ever had.

Coach Borchers also had this the say about the season, "It was definitely a memorable season with this team. The team came together in a special way, and I believe that was evident in the way they performed throughout the season. We had considerable contributions from a lot of the players in the team, and I believe that helped with the length of our success. It was an amazing season that saw many new records set with wins, shut-outs, and an appearance in the National Championship match but more importantly, we saw these boys grow in their faith in Christ as well as seeing some give their life to Christ. I'll say that is a pretty successful season!"
Congratulation to the men's soccer team in their great season and becoming the #2 team in the nation.
