Franklin Springs, GA - This weeks Athletes of The Week are Sophomore Audrey Johnstone from Women's Swimming and Senior Camilo Mendoza from Men's Swimming.
Senior Camilo Mendoza is from Medellin, Colombia and has been a part of the men's swim team for three years. Camilo has been a big part of the swim team, holding multiple individual school records and also holding school records in relay teams. This past weekend Camilo helped the Lions defeat eight different schools at the Brenau Invite while receiving six 1st place finishes and two 2nd place finishes while getting a six new school records and having two NCAA Div. II national cuts.
Next up for Camilo and the swim team, they will be competing at Carson Newman University on January 13, 2017.
Sophomore Audrey Johnstone is from Mission Viejo, CA and has been a part of the women's swim team for two years. Audrey has been a huge part the of the swim teams this year holding multiple individual school records and also holding school records in relay teams. This past weekend the team traveled to Brenau University to compete in the Brenau Inviational. Audrey helped the Lions win against 11 other schools competing at the invite, while receiving two 1st place finishes and five 2nd place finishes while getting a four new school records.
Next up for Audrey and the swim team, they will be competing at Carson Newman University on January 13, 2017.
