MEN SWIMMING DEFEATED 159-103

Franklin Springs, GA; The Lion's competed against NCAA Div. II Carson-Newman University in their last home dual meet of the season. Senior captain's Hayden Pendergraft, Camilo Mendoza, Cristian Carrasquilla, and David Rabern where recognized for their outstanding accomplishments, and will be greatly missed.

Head Coach, Allen Gilchrest commented; "It has been my privilege and honor to be their coach. We will miss them greatly, but we have some work left to do, as we prepare for our Conference Championships in February!"
 

Top 3 performances included:

In the 200 Medley relay (Aleksandrowicz, Mendoza, Illescas, Mendes) finished 2nd in 1:35.58. In the 1000 free, Stanislas Raczynski finished 2nd in 10:00.19. In the 200 free Alex Sobers finished 1st in 1:39.11. This was a new EC school record and NCAA national championship qualifying time. In the 100 back, Adrian Aleksandrowicz finished 1st in 52.18.
In the 100 breast, Camilo Mendoza finished 1st in 59.81. In the 200 fly, Pedro Illescas finished 1st in 1:54.78. In the 50 free, Adrian Aleksandrowicz finished 1st in 21.92. In the 100 free, Rafael Mendes finished 2nd in 48.06. In the 200 back, Pedro Illescas finished 2nd in 1:58.46. In the 200 breast, Camilo Mendoza finished 3rd in 2:13.08.
In the 500 free, Alex Sobers finished 1st in 4:39.33. Stanislas Raczynski finished 3rd in 4:54.14. In the 100 fly, Pedro Illescas finished 1st in 51.81. In the 200 IM, Camilo Mendoza finished 2nd in 2:01.89. In the 200 Free relay (Sobers, Mendes, Stigant, Reichenbach) finished 2nd in 1:27.76.
Next up, the Lions travel to Gaffney, South Carolina on Saturday (January 21st, 2017) to compete against Conference Carolina's rivals, Limestone College, on their Senior day. GO LIONS!
