MEN SWIMMING FINISHES 1ST IN ALL 5 EVENTS

Christiansburg, VA: On day 2 of the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championships, the men came out strong and finished 1st in all 5 events contested.

In the 200 free relay (Aleksandrowicz, Sobers, Stigant, Mendes) finished 1st in 1:22.55. A new EC school record, conference record, and NCAA Div. II national cut. All 4 guys went 20 seconds.

In the 500 free, Alex Sobers placed 1st in 4:30.93. A new EC school record, conference record, and NCAA Div. II national cut. Stanislas Raczynski 2nd (4:34.33), Richard Williamson 9th (4:47.83), Nathan Armes 15th (4:59.68). All 4 swims were lifetime best times for the lions.

In the 200 IM, Camilo Mendoza placed 1st in 1:52.19, Robert Jones 13th (2:03.53).
 
In the 50 free, Adrian Aleksandrowicz finished 1st in 20.32. A new EC school record, conference record, and NCAA Div. II national cut. Rafael Mendes finished 5th (21.43), Jarred Stigant 6th (21.49), and Andrew Reichenbach 10th (21.58). 

In the 400 medley relay (Aleksandrowicz, Mendoza, Illescas, Sobers) finished 1st (3:19.22). A new EC school record, conference record, and NCAA Div. II national cut.

The men moved into first place in the team standings, by 61 points. Tomorrow mornings events are 400IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back. GO LIONS!
