7 MORE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS ON DAY 3 FOR MEN’S SWIMMING

Christiansburg, VA: On day 3 of the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championships, the men had another great night of finals, winning 4 out of 6 events, 2 more school records, 3 more national cuts, and 2 more conference records. 

In the 200 medley relay (Aleksandrowicz, Mendoza, Illescas, Mendes) placed 1st in 1:31.52. A new EC school record and conference record. 

In the 400 IM, Camilo Mendoza placed 1st (4:01.36). An NCAA Div. II national cut. Julian Perry 16th (5:29.80). 

In the 100 fly, Pedro Illescas placed 1st (48.94). An NCAA Div. II national cut. David Brown 13th (53.58). 

In the 200 free, Alex Sobers placed 1st (1:37.74). A new EC school record, conference record, and NCAA Div. II national qualifying time. Rafael Mendes 8th (1:47.01). 

In the 100 breast, Jarred Stigant placed 6th (1:00.23), Robert Jones 7th (1:00.28), Cristhian Carrasquilla 15th (1:03.65). 

 

In the 100 back, Adrian Aleksandrowicz placed 2nd (49.95), David Brown 12th (54.87), Hayden Pendergraft 16th (56.08).
