3 SCHOOL RECORDS FALL IN FINALS

Annapolis, MD: The Emmanuel swim team is competing in the 2017 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference championships at the United State Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. The Lions broke 3 more EC school records in the first night of finals, including 5 more NCAA Div. II national qualifying times.     

Day 1 - Evening finals

On the men's side: In the 200 free relay (Aleksandrowicz, Sobers, Stigant, Mendes) finished 4th in 1:22.74.     In the 500 free, Alex Sobers finished 9th (4:27.56) taking 3 seconds off his own school record. In the 200 IM, senior captain Camilo Mendoza finished 10th (1:50.62). In the 50 free, Adrian Aleksandrowicz finished 5th (20.37). In the 400 medley relay (Aleksandrowicz, Mendoza, Illescas, Sobers) placed 3rd in a new school record 3:18.77. All 5 swims were NCAA Div. II national qualifying times. The men currently sit in 5th place out of 30 teams, with 92 points.                                                                                                                                                      

On the women's side: In the 200 free relay (Ribeiro, Tobo, Ostojska, Monges) finished 6th in 1:37.52, a new EC school record. The women currently sit in 11th place out of 30 teams, with 26 points.                                                                                                                                    

Head Swim Coach, Allen Gilchrest; "We had a great first day at ECAC's with 4 school records, 7 NCAA cuts, and a top 3 relay on the podium. We give God the Glory!" GO LIONS!

Day 2 prelims start at 10AM, events include: 200 medley relay, 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back
