6 MORE SCHOOL RECORDS FALL IN FINALS

Annapolis, MD: The Emmanuel swim team is competing in the 2017 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference championships at the United State Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. The Lions broke 6 more EC school records in the second night of finals, including 5 more NCAA Div. II national qualifying times.    

Day 2 - Evening finals

On the men's side: The 200 medley relay (Aleksandrowicz, Mendoza, Illescas, Mendes) placed 2nd in a new EC school record and NCAA national cut time of 1:30.43. In the 400 IM, senior captain Camilo Mendoza placed 9th in an NCAA cut time of 3:59.78. In the 100 fly, freshmen Pedro Illescas placed 4th in an NCAA national cut time of 48.69.

In the 200 free, freshmen Alex Sobers placed 2nd in a new EC school record and NCAA cut time of 1:35.95. Currently the 5th fastest NCAA Div. II time in the country. In the 800 free relay (Sobers, Mendoza, Illescas, Raczynski) placed 4th in a new EC school record and NCAA cut time of 6:42.23. The men currently sit in 7th place out of 30 teams, with 197 points.

On the women's side: The 200 medley relay (Tobo, Ribeiro, Gonzalez, Ostojska) placed 12th in 1:52.27. In the 400 IM, freshmen Anna Calka placed 11th in a new EC school record 4:37.84.   Sarita Duarte placed 12th in 4:51.57. In the 100 fly, freshmen Clara Monges placed 14th in 56.90. In the 800 free relay (Monges, Johnstone, Dawes, Tobo) placed 6th in a new EC record time of 7:46.54. The women currently sit in 11th place out of 30 teams, with 76 points.
 
Day 3 prelims start at 9AM, events include: 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, 400 free relay, 1650 free
