11 SWIMMERS ADVANCE TO FINALS

Annapolis, MD: The EC swim team is competing at the 2017 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference championships at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Only the top 16 in each event advance to the finals each night. 11 EC swimmers earned top 16 spots for tonight's third and final night of the competition. Day 3 - Morning prelims

On the men's side: In the 100 free, Adrian Aleksandrowicz 7th (45.46) Alex Sobers 8th (45.48) both NCAA national qualifying times. Jarred Stigant 33rd (47.12) Rafael Mendes 41st (47.35) Andrew Reichenbach 52nd (48.23) David Brown 63rd (49.41). In the 200 breast, Senior captain Camilo Mendoza finished 9th (2:03.46) Robert Jones 35th (2:13.54). In the 200 fly, Pedro Illescas finished 3rd in a new EC school record and NCAA national qualifying time of 1:46.88. In the 400 free relay (Aleksandrowicz, Mendoza, Stigant, Sobers) finished 2nd in a new EC school record time of 3:01.90.  

On the women's side: In the 200 back, Anna Calka finished in a season best time of 2:09.01 for 19th. Senior captain Diana Tobo 23rd (2:11.02). In the 100 free, Karolina Ostojska finished in a season best time 53.90 for 28th. Megan Dawes 39th (55.58). In the 200 fly, Audrey Johnstone finished 4th in a school record time of 2:06.26. Clara Monges 14th (2:10.73) Senior captain Laura Gonzalez 16th (2:12.04). In the 400 free relay (Ribeiro, Ostojska, Johnstone, Monges) finished 6th in 3:33.43.
