GILCHREST VOTED MEN’S COACH OF THE MEET AT ECAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

Congratulations to the 2017 ECAC Open Swimming & Diving Championships Men's Coach of the Meet, the Emmanuel College Head Swim Coach, Allen Gilchrest.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The 2017 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Men's & Women's Open Swimming and Diving Championships concluded on Sunday, with the host United States Naval Academy collecting its fifth-straight men's open team championship with 532 points. On the women's side, Navy capped off an impressive weekend with 632.50 points for the women's team title.

Rider University finished in second in the men's team competition with 378 points, with University of Maryland – Baltimore County placing third with a three-day total of 358. Bucknell University took runners-up honors in the women's competition with 452 points, while the University of Pennsylvania took third place in the women's team competition with a total of 434 points.
 
In addition to team championships, Sunday also saw multiple athletes and coaches collect individual honors. Loyola University's Ben Cono was voted the Men's Swimmer of the Meet, while Dina Rommel from the University of Virginia received the award for Women's Swimmer of the Meet.
 
Additionally, Navy's John Morrison was voted by his peers as the Women's Coach of the Meet, while Emmanuel College's Allen Gilchrest garnered the accolade for Men's Coach of the Meet.
