Lions show Strong Play at the Grizzly Open

Lawrenceville, GA – The Emmanuel College Tennis Team traveled to the home of the #1 Georgia Gwinnett College to compete at the Grizzly Open. The Lions were able to capture several wins throughout the 3-day event.

The freshman Guillaume Watteeuw had a great weekend with wins over Kaleb Soseebee (Point) by 8-1, Justine Aganon (Eastern Florida) by 8-1, Karlo Slvorc (Alabama State) by 8-2, and Maximiliano Faundez (Eastern Florida) by Default.

Senior, David Forehand defeated Kyle Howell (Point) by 7-5 6-2, James Woodfin took a win in three sets over Alante Carter (Brewton Parker) by 1-6 7-5 10-5, Mason White also rallied 3 sets to overcome Steven Knowles (Tusculum) 0-6 6-3 10-7, while Dustin Dodson played a good level of tennis by taking Alonzo Trevizo (Point) down by 6-0 6-1.

In Doubles play, Lucas Pereira and Juan Carlos Romero were able to defeat Maxim Renke/Oliver Walton (Brewton Parker) by 8-3 and Daniel Blanchard/Steven Tracy (Point) by 8-6.

The Emmanuel Lions Tennis team will now travel to Mars Hill University for another NCAA Regional Match. First serve is scheduled for 1PM.
