Lions Drop match to NCAA D-I The Citadel

Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel College Men's Tennis Team hosted NCAA D-I, The Citadel this Sunday for another regular season match.

The Lions started solid and earned early breaks on courts #1 and #3. On court #2, Alcacer/Romero, kicked off a bit slower than usual, making some unforced errors, costing them a 4-1 disadvantage. The Freshmen duo at #3, Canadas and Watteeuw were able to dominate their opponents for a quick 8-1 win. After railing for most the match, the #2 doubles finally snagged a lead, 6-5, but could not keep the momentum, dropping the match by 8-6. The same scenario happened on #1 Doubles, and Emmanuel started Singles Play down 2-1.

In singles #5 Guillaume Watteeuw gave the home team the first win on singles with a solid win. Emmanuel stretched the Bulldogs on every court with very close matches but EC saw the visitors grabbing 5 out of the 6 possible matches.
