Lions fall to Trojans in Conference Match

Mount Olive, NC – The Emmanuel College Tennis Team traveled to the defending conference champions, University of Mount Olive for the second conference Carolinas match of the season.

With tough opponents ahead the Lions' biggest obstacle this afternoon was actually the gusting wind of over 30mph. The doubles were marked with difficult plays from both sides and the Trojans were able to handle the situation a lot better than Emmanuel and quickly grabbed all three doubles to open a very large lead going into singles play.

Starting with a 3-0 deficit in singles, the Lions still faced major problems and encountered more experienced opponents in front of them. On court #2 the Freshman Jorge Canadas did win the first set but fell in a tight super tie-break on the third. The visitors Emmanuel Lions could not resist much longer and fell on all singles courts.

The EC Lions will be back on the court tomorrow for another conference match now against the Barton Bulldogs. First Serve is scheduled for 11AM!
