Men’s Volleyball Finishes Season with win against Rust

Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel College men's volleyball team played the last game of their 2016 season this past Friday and came out with another victory against Rust College.

In their final game, the Lions held back nothing and easily defeated their opponent 25-4, 25-4, 25-8. The Lions were led by Alex Barbosa with 13 kills and Meshach Mcknight with 18 assists and 6 digs.

With this victory, the Lions end their season with an overall record of 11-13 and conference record of 6-12. In only their second season of Conference Carolina play, Emmanuel finished 7th in the conference, 2 spots ahead of last year. Head Coach Chad Nelson is very optimistic heading into the future stating, "With a few close 5 set losses, we could have finished as high as 3rd or 4th, showing tremendous improvement over last year."

Heading into next season, it will be a huge rebuilding year for the Lions as they are graduating 6 seniors. With this new challenge, however, comes a great opportunity to continue building on the foundation that these seniors have set. Thank you to the seniors for your huge contribution to the Emmanuel College men's volleyball program and good luck with your future endeavors.
