Men's Volleyball Win First Game of The Season

Harrisonburg, VA - The Lions traveled to Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA on Saturday for an early morning match up against the Royals of EMU.

The Lions seemed to have rid themselves of first game jitters in their second match of the season and were able to come out on top winning their first match of the 2017 season 3 sets to zero.  The Lions balanced attack seemed to much to handle for the Royals.  Aleksa Lakic, Gilberto Cervantes, Ackeem West, and Max Nua were all productive at the net leading the Lions with 31 out of their 37 kills for the match.  The Lions also added 8 blocks to their .256 hitting percentage to help themselves to a 1-1 start to the season.

"We were able to pass in system much more efficiently this morning, and in turn run our offense" Coach Nelson stated after the 3-0 win against EMU.  "It also helps cutting our errors almost in half!" Nelson added.
