Men's Volleyball Get Third Win of the Season

Franklin Springs, GA - The Lions (1-10) hosted the Belmont Abbey Crusaders (3-7) on Monday. Emmanuel, still looking for a spark to re-ignite their season, came out fast and strong in the first set against the Crusaders with 17 kills on 32 attempts compared to the Crusaders 6 kills on 20 attempts. The Lions fended the Crusaders off to end the set 27-25.

The second set was more balanced offensively but the Lions, again, were able to win the set 26-24.

The third set was another showcase of the Lions' young talent with 16 kills, finishing the set 25-23.

Freshman, Aleksa Lakic, led both teams in kills with 15, tacking on an ace, and a solo block. Ackeem West, hitting .500 with 8 kills, led the team in aces with 3. Don Thompson led the team in blocks with 3. Senior, Gilberto Cervantes, led the game with 11 digs.

"It was great to see the team come together and to get a win in three sets. It was great to see Aleksa come off strong off an injury. Great team win"- Coach Chad Nelson.
