FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College Men's Volleyball team was back in action this weekend after coming off two straight wins. The Lions hoped to carry their momentum into the weekend as they took on Lincoln Memorial, who they previously lost to in three sets.
Alejandro Robles had a season high 13 kills, but it wasn't enough to redeem themselves against the Railsplitters. After a long 5 set battle, the Lions once again fell to LMU, narrowly losing the fifth set 16-14. The Lions had more kills and a higher hitting percentage than the Railsplitters, but a dominant block from LMU cost the Lions several points needed to take the victory. After returning from a timeout in the final set, the Railsplitters had a kill from Evan Cory to set them up for match point. Then, another block added to their already 28 gave LMU the fifth and final set.
The next day, Emmanuel took on Brewton Parker on the road. This was the second time these two teams met, the Lions swept them 3-0 earlier at home.
In similar fashion, Emmanuel didn't give the Barons much of a chance as they swept them 25-16, 25-16, 25-12.
Next up for the Lions is conference opponent Mount Olive next Friday, March 16th.
