Women’s Basketball Narrowly Defeats Bethesda University.

Winona Lake, IN – After a tough loss in the first round of the NCCAA National Championship Tournament, the Lady Lions would go on to face Bethesda University.

Bethesda outperformed the Lions in the first quarter scoring 21 points to Emmanuel's 16, but the Lions would fight back in the second quarter. A strong performance by Elise Coberly helped the Lions take the lead 35-31.

After trailing in the 3rd quarter, a jump shot form Timia Reynolds gave the Lions some momentum and led to a string of points from Mikayla Trombley and Addie Mcneely. By the final quarter Emmanuel established their lead and wouldn't let the Flames come back. A last second three from Bethesda, however, would put the Flames within 1 point of the Lions. Emmanuel wins 74-73.

Emmanuel was led by Elise Coberly with 17 points and 13 rebounds. The Lady Lions outshot the Flames from the field 43.8% to 27.3% but were 10 rebounds short of the Tigers. This win puts Emmanuel's record at 20-11 overall. The Lady Lions will play their next game Friday at 5PM for 5th place against Bluefield College.
