Lady Lions Fall Short in the Last Game of the Season

Due West, S.C.- The Emmanuel Women's Basketball Team went against Erskine in their last conference game of their regular season. Unfortunately, the ladies lost their last game with a final score of 78-83. Mikayla Trombley led the ladies in scoring with a total of 27-points. Avery Scarbrough and Mikayla Trombley snagged the most rebounds of the game.

Lochlain Corliss started out the first quarter with a 3-pointer. Erskine took away with scoring, but fouled Timia Reynolds. She made both of her shots. Mikayla Trombley made a layup followed by her first 3-pointer. Mikayla Trombley turned around and cleared her second 3-pointer which she was fouled on. She made both of her free throw shots. Timia Reynolds put up a jump shot for two points. Mikayla Trombley ended the first quarter with her third 3-pointer bringing the ladies to 20-28.

Taylor Delasbour entered the second half and was fouled by Erskine. She made one of her free throws. Genesis Jones pulled up a jump shot for two points. Mikayla Trombley was on fire with her fourth 3-pointer. Ashlyn Loudermilk made a jump shot to bring the ladies up 28-33. Taylor Delasbour made a jump shot followed by Timia Reynolds. Timia Reynolds was fouled on her shot and made her free throw. Avery Scarbrough cleared her jump shot. Syndey Nash redeemed a missed shot by ending the second quarter with her first 3-pointer. The ladies were only down by two, 38-40.

Timia Reynolds tied the game in the first few seconds with a jump shot. Elise Coberly stole the ball from Erskine allowing Avery Scarbrough to clear a layup. Ladies were in the lead, but Erskine came back. Taylor Delasbour put up the next four points for the ladies. Genesis Jones swept around for her first 3-pointer.  Elise Coberly added another 3-pointer, but Mikayla Trombley ended the third quarter with her fifth 3-pointer. The Lady Lions were down 54-59.

The Lady Lions finish their regular season with an overall record of 14-12, with a Carolina Conference record of 12-10. The Lady Lions want to thank all of their fans for their continued support at their games.

The fourth quarter started with a layup from Elise Coberly. This pushed the ladies forward and were only down by three compared to trailing by ten in the third. Mikayla Trombley was fouled and made two shots, but the ladies were soon down by ten. In attempts to bring the Lady Lions up, Avery Scarbrough made a jump shot and was fouled. She made one free throw shot. Mikayla Trombley showed out for her sixth 3-pointer followed by two jump shots from Avery Scarbrough and Timia Reynolds. Elise Coberly made back-to-back 3-pointers. Mikayla Trombley cleared the last two plays of the game adding the last four points. The ladies fought to come back, but lost to Erskine 78-83.
