FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga – The Lady Lions took home an eleven-point win against North Greenville finishing 64-75.
Taylor Delasbour led the team in scoring with 21 points in twenty-one minutes of play time. She was followed my Senior, Mikayla Trombley who had 16 points and 8 rebounds. The Lady Lions shot 65% from the free throw line and 43% from the field.
The ladies started out ahead in the first quarter with free throws from Avery Scarbrough. Taylor Delasbour scored two and drew the foul for a free throw. North Greenville tied the game, 7-7, then taking the lead 12-11. After a shot from Hope Forrester and free throws from Ajah Taylor, the ladies walked into the second quarter up, 17-22. Taylor Delasbour took a layup and a free throw, once again. The Lady Lions were up by twelve after a 3-pointer by Mikayla Trombley. The Ladies defense stayed strong as they maintained their ten-point lead. Halftime rolled away with Emmanuel up against North Greenville, 32-43.
The Lady Lions pushed forward to a 13-point lead with a 3-pointer from Taylor Delasbour to start the third quarter. The ladies of North Greenville made two free throws to get back in the game. After a layup and two extra shots, the Lady Lions were going into the fourth quarter up by four, 51-55. North Greenville started off the fourth quarter with a layup, decreasing the lead by two for the Lady Lions. Minutes went by without a shot from either team, then Mikayla Trombley and Taylor Delasbour fired off with a layup. After increasing their lead, Taylor Delasbour fouled North Greenville to give away two points. She came back with a layup and a foul of her own. The ladies ended the game with three repeat shots from Emily Dreslinski, Avery Scarbrough, and Mikayla Trombley.
The Lady Lions now hold an overall record of 15-9, with a conference record of 10-8. The ladies will be away at King University on Wednesday, February 21st with that game beginning at 5:30 PM.
