Women's Basketball Rallies Past Converse, 72-50

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College women's basketball team defeated conference opponent Converse College 72-50 on Tuesday night in the Williamson Basketball Arena.

The Lions had a slow start, including three turnovers in the first five minutes of the game. The Valkyries took advantage and gained a quick 5-0 lead. Senior Lochlain Corliss was the first Lion to connect with the net. Sophomore Breanna Locke would then capitalize on a couple free throws, followed by a layup from Junior Ajah Taylor. One more layup from Corliss would give the Lions the lead.

Sophomore Hanna Grogan went three-for-three in the second quarter to help further extend the Lions lead to 34-22 by halftime. 

With a demanding lead, Emmanuel would cruise through the second half to a 72-50 victory. The third quarter saw an impressive 41.2% field goal percentage, while the fourth quarter saw a strong 15 point showing from the bench.

Taylor Delasbour led the Lions with 13 points.

The Lions will be on the road for their next few games, starting with Barton College on Saturday.
