Franklin Springs, GA - The Emmanuel Women's Lacrosse team have notched up their third win of the season after a comprehensive 12-2 win over Ohio Northern University. The first half was all Emmanuel, as a vibrant Lion attack lit up the field with an impressive array of skill and tenacity. Tara Larson opened up the scoring for the Lions with an unassisted effort just 30 seconds into the game. Senior Savannah Gratz then claimed 2 unassisted goals for herself to give the Lions a 3-0 lead just 7 minutes into play. The goals continued to flow at a steady pace for the Lions as Tara Larson, Allie Brock and Lara Russel all got in on the action. Ohio Northern Univesity managed just the one conversion for the first half, by Madeline Storr in the 14th minute. The Lions entered the half time break with a 10-1 lead. The second half of the game was much more even and contested, with OHN limiting Emmanuel to two goals, out of 10 shots. The second half goals for the Lions were to Seniors Katie McCall and Haley Larson. Haley Larson finished with 2 goals for the match, as did Lara Russel, while Larson and Savannah Gratz finished with 3. Allie Brock and Katie McCall each had 1. Emma Pow (gk) went all 60 minutes in goal with 2 saves and just 2 goals against. Emmanuel dominated the stats in an impressive array of hard work and unity. The Lions will take home field again at 3:30 on Thursday as they take on Johnson and Wales University from Colorado.
