Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Belmont Abbey

Franklin Springs, GA – The Women's Lacrosse team took on #3 ranked Conference Carolina competitor Belmont Abbey. While the Lady Lions put up 5 points, it wasn't enough to faze the Crusaders who scored 14 of their own.

The Crusaders started strong with 5 straight goals before Senior Haley Larson could answer with 1 of her own. 4 minutes later Tara Larson scored again for the Lions with an assist from Allie Brock. The Crusaders would score again, but shortly after had to play a man down. The Lions capitalized and scored another goal from Savannah Gratz.

In the second half, the Crusaders would score a couple more goals before Tara Larson scored her second goal of the night once again assisted by Allie Brock. Still up by 4, Belmont Abbey switched gears and scored 6 consecutive goals. With just over a minute left in the game, Savannah Gratz scored the final point for the Lions with an assist from Haley Larson. The final score was 14-5, Belmont Abbey.

This loss puts the Lions overall record at 4-5 and conference record at 0-4. The Ladies will continue action Saturday March 19th as they take on Montevallo away at 2PM.
