Lions Top Chowan University

Murfreesboro, NC – The Lady Lions went to the Chowan University for their fourth game and their second victory on the season. The Lady Lions were superior all game, and they won by an impressive 10 goals, 18-8.

The Lions came out strong in the first half putting 5 goals on front, with a 10-5 lead. In the second half, they played consistent and got 8 more goals. Junior Tara Larson led the Lady lions with 7 goals, she also assisted one goal. Following her, Katiana Aguilar contributed 3 goals; Hanna Hernandez , Lara Russell  and Kamaia Gaylen contribute with 2 goals each one. Lara Russel had great participation in assistance with 7 out of the teams 10. The Lady Lions had two yellow cards issued, both on the second half, the first one for Aleah Marijanich and the second one for Emily Oliver.  Also, the Lady Lions dominated draw controls by commanding 16 out of the 28 during the game. Tara Larson was responsible for 8 of them.

Defensively, Katie McCall  and Allie Brock  caused turnovers 3 each. In the goal, sophomore Tiana Machado had 6 saves out of 11 shots taken against her. She also was credited with 1 ground ball. Emma Pow shared the goal with Tiana, and had 8 saves out of 11 shots taken against her. 

The Lady Lions will be back in action on Wednesday, March 8th at 7:00 PM at Southern Virginia University.
