Lady Lions Lacrosse Fall At Mount Olive

Mount Olive, N.C.– The Lady Lions went to the University of  Mount Olive for their last conference game away of the season. The Lady Lions played an equally first half, but in the second half the Trojans came out strong. The Lady Lions lost for 21-9.

The game was disputed in the first half with both teams had great chances. In the second half, the Lady Lions did not repeat their first half and lost this half for 14-4. The Lady Lions had one yellow cards issued, one coming in the second half to Samantha Metzger.

On the offensive front, Tara Larson led the Lady Lions with 4 goals. Aleah Marijanich contributed 2 goals, and Hanna Hernandez and Katie McCall contributed 1 goal each. Lara Russell led the team with 2 assists, and Katie McCall, Emma Pow and Kamaia Gaylen  with 3 groundballs each one. Tara Larson had 5 out of the 13 draw controls for the Lady Lions. 

Defensively, Aleah Marijanich  led the team in caused turnovers claiming 3 out of the team total of 13. In the goal for 36:37 minutes, Tiana Machado had 8 saves out of 21 shots taken against her. Emma Pow had the goal for 23:23 minutes, she had 8 saves out of 16 shots taken against her. She also was credited with 1 caused turnover and 3 groundballs. The team successfully completed 17-21 clears while having 23 fouls.

The Lady Lions will be back in action on Tuesday, April 4th at 6:00 PM at Emmanuel College.
