Lady Lions Lacrosse Edges Lees-McRae

Franklin Springs, GA – The Lady Lions hosted the Less-McRae College for one more conference game. The Lady Lions in conference games they have 4-4 with just one more game to go. They won by one goal, 14-13 in an excitement and difficult game.

The Lady Lions came out strong in the first half, winning by 3 goals. The second half was difficult for them but not sufficient to lost the advantage that they had. The Lady Lions dominated draw controls by commanding 21 out of the 29 during the game. Tara Larson  one more time made an excellent and impressive game for the Lady Lions. 

On the offensive front,  Tara Larson  led the Lady Lions with 7 goals out of 14.  Hanna Hernandez, Aleah Marijanich and Lara Russell   contributed 2 goals each one. Lara Russell  led the team with 3 assists, and Tara Larson  led with an impressive 15 groundballs. Tara Larson also, had 16 out of the 21 draw controls for the Lady Lions.

Defensively, Kamaia Gaylen and Kaitlyn Morris led the team in caused turnovers claiming 2 each one out of the team total of 10. In the goal for 22:02 minutes, Emma Pow had 3 saves out of 6 shots taken against her. For 37:08 minutes Tiana Machado had 4 saves out of 14 shots taken against her. The team successfully completed 16-16 clears.

The Lady Lions will be back in action on Tuesday, April 11th at 4:00 PM at Belmont Abbey College.
