Franklin Springs, GA - The Emmanuel College Lions had a strong showing in their second weekend of competition. The Lions played host to the 5th annual Georgia Open with over 16 teams represented at the tournament. 

The Lions were lead by three 1st place finishes on the day. Sophomore Darius Bunch (133) was the first champion of the day, winning three matches before earning an exciting overtime victory in the finals over Zach Clary of Newberry College (unatt). EC's second champion of the day was freshman Hunter Quinn (141). Quinn amassed three victories on the day en route to his 1st place finish. The last winner on the day was Junior Maveric Rechsteiner (197). Rechsteiner had an impressive showing, ending all three of his matches in the first or second period. 

The men's wrestling team had four other tournament placers on the day. Sophomore Jay Sheppard (157) and Freshman Dylan Gouine (174) both ended with strong 3rd place finishes. Senior Kenny Mason (285) and freshman Alberto Perez (125) ended the tournament with 5th place finishes for the Lions. 

The Lions take the mat next on Tuesday, November 15th for a dual meet against in-state opponent Truett-McConnell University in Cleveland, GA.
