Men's Wrestling Hosts Georgia Open

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA. - This past weekend the Men's Wrestling team hosted the 6th annual Georgia Open. The Lions had thirteen wrestlers that placed top eight at the tournament. 

At 133 pounds Emery Cline went 3-2 and placed 7th. At 141 pounds Michael John Harris went 4-1 and took 2nd, Dalton Flint 4-2 finished 4th, and Dylan Carlile 3-2 placed 5th. The 157-pound weight class had three Emmanuel wrestlers take the top three spots, Jay Sheppard (5-0, 1st), Hunter Quinn (3-1, 2nd), Chandler Saine (4-1, 3rd), Kevin Almond (8th). At 165 pounds Calvin Nimely (6th), at 174 pounds Melvin Nimely (5th) and Colton McMahan (6th). At 184 pounds Seth Bell (8th) and at 197 pounds Richard Walker (3rd). the last champ at the 285-pound weight class Maveric Rechshteiner placed (1st). The Lions will return to the mat on December 3rd for the Newberry Duals in Newberry, South Carolina.
